Eleitino Paddy Walker - Author

Eleitino Paddy Walker has spent a lifetime building bridges of peace and understanding between people of different cultural backgrounds.  Her own dual cultural upbringing gave her the deep understanding of what we all can do to generate harmony in our lives, manifesting itself in becoming the founding President of PACIFICA in New Zealand as well as establishing the Pacific Island Youth Leadership Trust also in New Zealand.

Upon moving to the Cook Islands she set up the CI branch of Pan Pacific South East Asian Women's Association (PPSEAWA) which ultimately culminated in her becoming the World Peach Ambassador for this organisation.  She was nominated for the Nobel Peach Prize as one of the Thousand Women of Peach in 2009.

Eleitino has designed many programmes for children to generate a sense of wellbeing and life values, including Te Ara'anga which became part of the Cook Island's school curriculum.  She was also responsible for the creation of Peace Gardens throughout the Pacific and initiated the inauguration of Peace Ambassadors within the Cook Island's schools' education system in conjunction with the Peace Council PPSEAWWA.

Her focus this time is on children and the power they have to inspire peace.  Her hope is that this series of books telling of the message from the Peace Bird will give children a sense of their own worth and what they can do to grow in peace.
